Club Championship results for 2009 have now been calculated and the winners and medallists are shown below.
This years Walton AC Awards evening will be held on Saturday 14th of November.
For those people that haven't been before, it's essentially a fun end of season celebration with night of food, drink, a few team games and prize giving. You certainly don't have to be winning an award to come.
As with last year we will be presenting trophies to all age groups from U11 upwards.
Age group winners and medalists will be decided on the basis of their performances across the season in track and field matches with the number of times they have represented the club being taken into consideration.
The leading three athletes in each age group will be presented with gold, silver and bronze medals and the winner will be awarded the age group championship trophy for a year.
The Awards evening will be held at St Andrews Church Hall (just opposite the club in Hersham Road, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, KT12 1LG).
Starting at 7:30pm the evening will consist of:
Presentations Raffle 3 Course Meal (Bring your own drinks) Fun and Games
Tickets cost £5 in advance and £7.50 on the door. There is a limit of 100 tickets, so get in early and buy in advance

Surrey Cross Country League Match 1
Written by Administrator
Thursday, 15 October 2009
The first Surrey League matches were on Saturday 10th October and Walton's boys and girls were in action.
The girls were in the Priory Park at Reigate for their Division two match . We had two under 15 runners and both did well. Alice Wills finished 6th and Beth Hamlet finished 10th in a field of 32 runners. Despite needing 4 scorers to fill a team the team of two came an excellent 4th of 13 teams.
In the senior race we had 6 runners. Nat Warren led the team home with a best ever position of 5th . Hayley Carr came 14th and Fiona Parry in her first cross country race next in 23rd. Nicola Aylett came 30th in her first senior race and then Jo Locker was 37th. Lucy King in her first cross country race was 74th. there were over 130 runners in the race. The team finished in 3rd place only 4 points behind 2nd (109 to105) Senior results
The men and boys had a home match on the usual interesting course at West End Common, Esher. We had the individual winner of both races and some great runs from others. George Thomas won the junior race with Ben Kennard a close 4th, Seb Saller was 6th and Kyle Treherne 7th. The under15/under17 team won the match comfortably. In the under 13 race Elliot Bryant in his first cross country race for the club had an encouraging run finishing 3rd.
The senior race was won by James Harvey who finished over 100m ahead of second. Gareth Creagh finished 4th despite falling and probably losing 2 places. Jon Brine was 14th and Michael Allen-Dan 16th. Mark Farmer was next in 30th and Alex Ferrelly 62nd. Andy Jones was 83rd, Andy Pillidge 91st, Chris Taplin 96th, Drew Gatherer 100th, Sean McCarthy 118th, Mark Thomas 122nd, Phil Amos 133rd, Stu Channon 135th and Jack Rutherford 139th. The team came 5th of 9 teams, 1 point behind 4th.
