Nat on Tour (Warm weather training)

Do you wish you are here?

I am writing this from sunny Gran Canaria. Every year Sue Hooper (sprints coach) organises a one or two week warm weather training trip.
This year it is a smaller group than normal: myself (in the middle distance group), Jon and Adam (from the sprints group) and Ryan (international 400m hurdler who previously trained with Sue at Canterbury) along with Sue and husband Pete.

Warm weather training is an excellent chance to do some fast, quality work in the sun in preparation for the track season.

We train every morning either at the track doing speed or event work or at the beach doing drills or running up sand dunes! In the afternoon we either do core-stability, long runs or relaxation/stretching.

In order to ease aching muscles Sue makes us stand in the freezing cold pool for 10 minutes after every session much to the amusement of the sun bathers!
In between all the training we manage to fit in subathing, siestas and previous year´s activities have included crazy-golf, aqua parks and hiking (or for some running) up volcanoes!

This year I don´t know if I am going to be more tired from the training or coping with 3 very chatterbox athletics/car mad boys!
