A number of Walton athletes took part in the Holly Run at Reigate on Sunday.

This is a cross country event held annually on the last Sunday before Christmas in the Priory Park at Reigate. The hilly course and very muddy ground made it a very testing course.

There were Walton entrants in nearly every age group.

Phillip Bearman was first to run in the under 11 boys race where he came an excellent 7^th.

Four Walton girls competed in the under13 race, Becky Morris  24^th, Lauren Highton 25^th, Harriet Hall 28^th and Emily Wastie 33^rd.

Higo Fleming finishes 17^th under13 boy.

Michael Clenents was 26^th under15 boy and in the under 15 girls event Kim Dawkins was 17^th, Nicola Aylett 22^nd and Maria Lawrence 24^th.

The best team result of the day was a win for the under17 girls team of Katie Panton 8thy, Becky Sims 9^th and Josie Morley 10^th .

Claire Pearce came 11^th in the under 20 girls race and the best individual performance was from John Redshaw who was 2^nd under 20 man, John came 11^th in the combined u20/senior men’s race with Jon Ladley 39^th of the 134 finishers.

The next cross country event is the county championships on Saturday 6^th January, followed by the next Surrey League matches a week later on 13^th January.

If anyone wants to be entered for the county champs and hasn’t already spoken to Ros or Jack, please do so early this week, entries close on 21^st December.
