Two weekends in February saw the Lea Valley stadium host national masters championships at which Walton were represented.

On Sunday 10th February Joanne Regan and Andrew Kennard competed in the pentathlon championship. Both claimed silver medals with good all round performances.

Jo – 60m hurdles 11.1, high jump 1.27, Shot 7.14, long jump 4.64 and 800m in 2.52.8 for a score of 2302 points.

Andrew – 60m hurdles 9.8, long jmup 5.43, shot 7.45, high jump 1.54 and 1000m in 3.01.2 for a score of 2853 points.

On the weekend of the 23/24 February the winter throws championships were held.

New Walton member Joe Eastwood won the M55 javelin with a throw of 36.53 and Dave Palmer came 4th in the M60 discus with 33.18, less than half a metre from a medal.
