Ebbisham League 3rd August at Kingston

A small Walton team produced some excellent individual performances in the last Ebbisham league match at Kingston on Sunday. They finshed fourth on the day but fifth overall so will be relegated to division two for next season. With better turnouts next season there is no doubt that we can win division two and return to the top division.
Our thanks to Phil Bearman for taking on the team management at short notice.

As usual the under 13’s were very strong with a number of event wins. Sam Odell and Charlie Hitchcock won the A & B string 100m races. Sam was 2nd in the 200m with Robert Litchfield 4th in the B race.Sam Linsley came 2nd in the 400m.
Sam and Phillip Bearman then had a double win in the A & B 1500m. Charlie won the A string hurdles with Phillip 3rd in the B.
On the field Sam Odell and Robert both jumped big personal bests to win both long jumps and there were pbs in the discus for Robert and Phillip who gained two 2nd places. The 4 x 200m relay team came 3rd to round off the day.

Only two under 15’s competed but all four of their performances were personal bests !
Kyle Traherne was 2nd in both the year1 200m and 800m and in year 2 Ben Kennard was 4th in the 400 & 800

We had two under 17’s as well and both managed a pb during the day.
Matt Norman was 5th in the A string 200m with George Thomas 3rd in the B. Matt jumped a pb for 4th place in the long jump and George won the 800m in a new pb.

Julian Hitchcock and Joey Odell ran well in the under 11 non scoring 75m.
