Surrey Indoor Championships.

The Surrey Indoor championship was another successful one for Walton. We had 7 athletes competing and they came away with 2 titles and 8 medals.

On the girls side Sophie Mace won the under 17 women’s shot with an excellent 11.29. Millie Thorpe was 3rd in her heat of the  Under 17 60m hurdles in 9.45. She improved her time to 9.35 in the final for 5th place. Millie also finished 2nd in the shot with 7.93.

In the under 15 girls age group Nicola Bell came 4th in the shot with 7.03 and in the Senior women’s shot event Sinead O’Brien won the bronze medal with 7.95.

Lucy Weir won the under 20 women’s long jump bronze medal with 4.90 and also came 4th in the 60m in 8.29.

Sawa Yamakawa picked up three under 15 boys silver medals with a spint hurdles in 8.8, a long jump of 5.78 and a shot of 11.08. The winner in the shot was Sam Mace who threw 12.16.
