Surrey Indoor Championships at Carshalton 14/15 February

Nine Walton athletes competed at Carshalton at the weekend and returned with 7 medals.

In the senior age groups there were silver medals for Carla Letheby in the women’s shot with 10.73 and for Craig Timmings in the men’s pole vault, 3.20.

In the under 17 women’s shot Sophie Mace set a new Championship Best Performance in winning with 12.43. In the heats of the under 17 men’s 60m Andrew Hallan ran 7.97s.

In the under 15 girls age group there were medals in the shot for both Tait Jones, 1st with 9.65 and Nicola Bell, 9.05 for 3rd place, both girls threw big personal bests. Dana Frankland jumped 1.35 for 7th in the high jump and Indy Dryburgh was unlucky on the long jump with two no jumps then a 3.79.

Sam Mace had a busy day in the under 15 events. He won the shot with 12.90 and was 3rd in the long jump with 4.84. In the 60m he came 2nd in his heat, 7.95, 3rd in his semi final with 7.90 and then ran 7.87 in the final for 4th place.
