Young Athletes Surrey Cross Country League – Richmond Park
11 junior athletes made the short journey to Richmond Park to compete in
the first Young Athletes cross country race of the season on Saturday.
In the under 13 boys race, Jack Gemmell led the team home in sixth place,
closely followed by Ross Hurst in eighth. Freddie Allen was the next scorer
home followed by Jacob Gelona. The boys did fantastically well and finished
third in the team competition.
In the under 15/17 boys race, cross country captain Charlie Feinson was the
first Walton athlete home in a credible eighth position, next home was Ben
Fitzpatrick in 12th, closely followed by Joshua Taylor in 14th. Tom Jones
was next across the line followed by Michael Cottrill and newcomers Rueben
Leyland and Ben Palmer in their first competitive race for the club. All
the boys did extremely well and were rewarded with first place in the team
