The weekend saw Walton Junior athletes compete in the Surrey Cross Country
Relay Championships at Stoke Park over a 2.5km course.
The outstanding performances of the day saw the under 15 Girls (Rachel
Pharaoh/ Charlotte Vaughan & Emma Horsey) take team gold, with Charlotte
running the days fastest leg in 7:28.
Not to be out done the under 15 boys (Ben Fitzpatrick/ Ben Marks & Joshua
Taylor) take team silver with Ben Marks running the second quickest leg of
the day in 6:54
The under 13 boys A team came 6th, the B team 20th, fastest Walton leg was
done by Jack Gemmell 7:38. The under 15 girls B team came 10th with Clara
Sawicki running the teams fastest leg 8:28. The under 15 boys B team came a
credible 8th with Ollie Coppellotti who is coming back to form after a
long period of injury running the teams fastest leg 7:14. and the C team
came 19th with newcomer Rueben Leyland running the fastest leg of the team
7:42. The under 17 men teams came 5th and 10th respectively in very tough
competition, the fastest Walton leg was ran by Cross Country
captain Charlie Feinson in 7:12.
