Another Club Record for National Leader George!

Weekend Track & Field Roundup

This weekend we had athletes in action at open meetings in Lee Valley and Crawley in glorious conditions. Quickly becoming a superstar, George Sudderick was once again in fine form and lowered his under 15 boys club 300 metres record to 37:11 and stretched his position at the top of the UK rankings, also running a PB of 11.94 in the 100. Others recording PBs in the sprints at Lee Valley were Caitlin Paul (14.14 100), Josh Punton (14.22 100 and 29.06 200), Finn Punton (28.38 200), Kate Raven (28.89 200), Grace Penfold (30.45 200 and 47.87 300) and Iona Hobbs (30.95 200), Darby Begley Jones (44.89 300), Georgia Russell (46.23 300) and Josh Hathaway (52.82 400). In the 800, Mark Jacoby (2:10.84), Ben Palmer (2:27.39), Finn Punton (2:31.07) and Lani Cardwell (2:45.57) all ran PBs. Jemima Hobbs (78.30) and Tom Cursons (64.46) ran PBs over the 400 hurdles, and in the sprint hurdles there were PBs for Caitlin Paul (13.96) and Phoebe Schofield (13.68). In the field, there were PBs in the High Jump for Kate Raven (1.35) and Amy-Lee Van Der Westhuizen (1.20) and the Long Jump for Jacob Gelona (3.54).

Over at Crawley, a welcome return to competition for Carla Letheby saw her having a busy day, and showing fine form in the hammer (41.15), shot (10.23) and javelin (30.04). She was joined by Josh Cowie who threw a PB 25.15 in the hammer. Joe Eastwood (shot, javelin), Robin Roach (shot) and Bernhard Jongejan (javelin) all threw excellent opening distances. Charlie Feinson was also in action, with a fine opener over 800 of 2:06.13.

Meanwhile, during the week, Oliver Emment ran a Mile in 5:13.51 at Watford, and out in the US, Hugo Fleming ran 1:56.30 for 800.
