SAL Match 3 Report

A solid performance at Sutton achieved a good second place in round 3 of the SAL. Joint league leaders Reading won the match but Walton beat hosts Herne Hill and North Devon.

In the womens sprints there were seasons bests for Susie in the 100 & 200 with a PB for Jo Flowers in the 100. Jo also ran a PB in the 400 with Jemima winning the B string race.

There were A & B string wins for Fiona and Jo Locker in the 800 and 1500, with Jo also 2nd in the 3000m and Mandy winning the B string. Lucy picked up two 2nd places in the sprint hurdles and 400 hurdles with Jemima winning the B string 400 hurdles.

Lisa and Susie gained two 2nd places in the high jump with Lisa also 2nd in the long jump. Tina won the triple jump.

Sinead, Lisa and Debbie scored well in the throws. Sinead won the hammer with Debbie 2nd in the B, and Lisa won the javelin with Sinead 2nd in the B.

The sprint relay team of Lisa, Susie, Fiona and Jo F came 2nd and the 4 x 4 relay team of Susie, Fiona Jo and Jo finished the day off with a win.

In the men’s sprints there were seasons best for Stu and Jamie including a 100m PB for Jamie. In the 400 there were 3rd places for Charlie and Tom, with a PB for Tom.
Duncan won the 800m with Matt Pharaoh 2nd in the B race and a PB for Mark Jacoby as a non scorer. In the 1500m Isaac was a few 10ths outside his best and

Ollie set a new PB. Michael Cottrill and Ed Dawson (with a new PB) ran as non scorers.

Rob A Smith and Matt Reed (with a new PB) ran the 400 hurdles, then Matt and Duncan ran the 5k.

There were maximum points in the pole vault through Greg and Jon Ladley and Greg also won the B string sprint hurdles. Rob A and Jon Ladley picked up two 2nd places in the high jump.

In the throws there were maximum points in the hammer from Rob C Smith and Bernhard with Bernhard and Joe Eastwood getting two 2nd places in the javelin
