Masters on sparkling form in Birmingham!

Walton’s ‘mature’ athletes put on an impressive display over the weekend at the British Masters Championships at Alexander Stadium, collecting a haul of nine medals.

Jo Flowers is British Champion for her PB performance in the 400m (62.72), whilst on the field, Bernhard Jongejan won the javelin with 43.26m. Jo also took silver in the 200m.

Chris Taplin was another athlete to shine, winning three medals and producing two SBs and a PB in conditions that were not especially quick. Chris ran 100m in 12.05s (PB), taking silver with a late surge, and also took bronze in the 200m (24.67) and 400m (54.38). Also on the track, Jo Locker took silver in the 1500m.

Meanwhile in the throws, Joe Eastwood and Debbie Singleton took silver medals in the javelin (34.01 SB) and discus respectively, while Jon Ladley took bronze in the discus.
