Appearing regularly in news items this year has been Sam Mace, whose performances in the throws have been impressive.

The Hammer Circle (Association of British Hammer Throwers) awarded Sam with the ‘Dixon Trophy’ for British Youth with most promise with his throw of 64.32m this year.

Sam received his award from his coach- Olympic and Commonwealth hammer thrower Paul Dickenson.
