YDL UAG Match 2 Report

UAG YDL Bexley 27th May

Walton made the trek to Bexley to perform brilliantly just like the weather.

I hope the new faces to Walton AC UAG YDL all enjoyed their first comp and were all made to feel welcome.

There were 17 new personal bests and 29 first places for the squad.

Such fine performance ensured Walton came 2nd out of 7 teams, so a huge pat on the back for all.

Our field athletes filling 20 events managed to outscore our track athletes filling 26 events with 176 points in the field and 164 points gained on the track !! But our track athletes managed quite a few PBs.

A huge thank you to our ever loyal team of officials without whom these matches would not go ahead : Pauline Begley-Jones, Nick Dawson, Karen Hubbard, Vanessa Lee, Clare Mammen, Tracy and Chris West.

Also to all the parents for making the journey to Kent and to Coach of the Day Andrew Kennard. The team spirit was high with special thanks to all those athletes filling relay gaps at last minute. You re all stars.

What a fantastic bunch of athletes Walton have supported by super parents, you should all feel very proud.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Sam Bishop.
