Ebbisham League Report

On a glorious sunny day Walton athletes shined with some outstanding performances, numerous personal bests and fantastic team spirit to finish in third place in a closely fought battle behind Guildford and Epsom in the final fixture of the season at the Xcel Sports Hub.

In the under 13 age group, there was a victories for William Clarke in the long jump and a sprint double for Hayden Evans over 100 & 200. Alex Histon Allvey and Harry Tuckman took second place in the A&B 800 both securing new personal bests and third paces for Tim Skelton 1500 and Jacob Thomas 200.

The under 15 Boys, George Sudderick stormed to a sprint double over 100 & 200 to put the final touches to his preparation for his defence of his English Schools 300 metre title next weekend. There was double victories and personal bests for Luca Soave in the 100 & 300. Victories kept coming from Jon Awuah 300, boys Club Captain Jack Gemmell 1500 and in the Javelin both Ricky Villa-Abrille and Jakob Howe were a class apart to secure maximum points. Ross Hurst and Joseph Daws-Tilley secured second places in the A&B 800 with huge personal bests. Finn Punton secured two second places in the hurdles and high Jump and Harvey McAndrew was second in the 1500 also with a new personal best.

There was many other outstanding Walton performances in all of the non scoring events from under 11 up to under 17. Special mention should go to newcomers Xavier Taylor, Jason Speirs, Sam Wells, Adam Loakes and Toby Kimmins who had their first experience at this level.

Thanks to all the club officials and parents who came out to help and support not just at this match but throughout the season and congratulations to all the boys.
