Woking Open and Intercounties Success!

Last weekend saw some great last minute performances by our athletes at various locations.

New member and U13 pole vaulter Natalia Ivanov competed in her first ever pole vault competition at the Woking Open Meeting.
She managed a very good height of 2.10metres. Congratulations to her!

Others with personal bests included U13 Ben Giles in the 100m with 14.36 (-2.1), 200m with 29.84 (-2.4) and Long Jump with 4.05m.

Her coach Michael Franklin also competed and achieved a season’s best of 3.00metres.

This was the last ever meeting at the Sheerwater Track as the site is being re developed and Woking AC are moving to a new facility.

Meanwhile, at the South of England Inter county Championships at Horspath, several athletes were in action. Jeslyn Agyei-Kyem won the U15W 300 (40.69), with Caitlin Paul also running 45.93 in the heats. Georgia Russell was in action in the shot put, recording 10.60 for 5th place. Amy Lee van der Westhuizen threw a 37.30m PB in the hammer, and 18.50m in the discus. In the U20 competition, Sam Mace was second in the hammer with 60.22m, while Luca Soave threw a mssive PB of 30.94 to take 6th in the U15 hammer.
