Superb Results for Walton Athletes at English Schools

Congratulations to the Walton Athletes who all achieved so much to be selected for the 2019 English Schools Track and Field Championships on 12th and 13th July.

The ESSA National Championships is the 4th largest Athletics event in the World.

Results are as follows:

Amy-Lee van der Westhuizen – Junior Girls Hammer – 5th. Amy made the cut in a very impressive girls Hammer Pool.

Georgia Russell – Intermediate Girls Shot – 11th. Georgia performed well in a very tough pool of big throwers.

Jeslyn Agyei-Kyem – Intermediate Girls 300m – 5th. Jeslyn made her way to the final with the countries top 300m sprinters.

Nicola Bell – Senior Girls Javelin – 3rd. Nicola threw a Personal Best to take the BRONZE medal, perfect for her last year at English Schools.

Philip Kastner – Senior Boys Long Jump – 2nd. Phillip representing Middlesex jumped his way to the SILVER medal.

Cedelle Agyei-Kyem – Intermediate Girls 300m – 1st. English Schools 300m Champion took the GOLD in a dramatic final. This also meant earning an England vest for the SIAB Schools International in Cardiff.

Sam Mace – Senior Boys Hammer – 1st. English Schools Hammer Champion. This was his final English Schools Championships. After six years Sam has won twice and and taken two Silvers, so nice to say goodbye with another GOLD medal.

The club is very proud, so well done to all for such achievements.
