More fixture list updates

We have now received venues for the Young Athletes League so the fixture list has been updated with these details. Please check which matches you are eligible to compete in (ask a coach if you’re not sure) and put them in your diary. There will be a final updated version of the list produced once the remainder of the venues have been agreed

Walton AC trip to the Norwich Union Grand Prix

Last year 50 or so Walton AC members witnessed the first five metre ladies pole vault in history as the centre piece of a superb nights athletics at the Norwich Union Crystal Palace Grand Prix.
Whilst we cannot guarantee another historic moment we can expect an excellent night of athletics again this year.  We have reserved a block of 60 tickets in the Jubilee stand, where we were last time, for the meeting on Friday 28th July

We are getting a 20% discount on adult bookings so tickets will cost £13.60 for adults and £12 for under 16’s/OAPS/NUS

Again, as with last year, we will not organise transport to the venue, its much easier to travel by train via Clapham Junction to Crystal Palace station, a few minutes walk from the stadium.

The tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so let me know how many tickets(adults + concessions) you want by either mailing me @ jonladley@hotmail.com, speaking to me at training, or ringing me on 07779 335 405.

Due to the nature of the reservation process we will need payment within the next few weeks, either in cash or by cheque

Further updates to fixture list

We have now received dates and venues for the Lily B League and some venues for the Southern Women’s League so the fixture list has been updated with these details. Please check which matches you are eligible to compete in (ask a coach if you’re not sure) and put them in your diary. There will be a final updated version of the list produced once the remainder of the venues have been agreed

Walton Open Meeting Sunday 7th May

Due to the earlier start dates for most track and field league competitions this year we are going to hold the Walton Open Meeting a few weeks later than usual.

The event will be held on Sunday 7th May at Stompond Lane starting at 10:30. The usual programme of events will be held including all track events up to 3000m, sprint hurdles, long hurdles and steeplechase for all relevant age groups and all four jumps.  There will be a few events for under 11 age group. As usual we will be unable to hold throwing events.

Following its successful introduction last year we will again be using electronic timing and photofinish. Select the link to download an entry form and timetable. Entry form and programme .
We cannot hold events of this kind without plenty of help on the day and we would ask anyone available, whether they have experience of officiating or not, to offer their help by phoning Debbie Singleton on 01932 225351
