Final Surrey Sportshall Fixture

SURREY SPORTSHALL 2006/7

The final sportshall competition  takes place at the Spectrum on Sunday 4th February, starting at 1pm and finishing at approximately 4.30pm . Team managers will be getting in touch with athletes about this during the next few days.

Walton AC had another successful time at the last competition, with some good team positions and athletes in to the top ten of their age group. Particular praise should go to the U13 girls (A team) who came an excellent 2nd. Similarly Peter Wan and Chelsey Lavall gained top ten places again.  Ellen Sellwood, Abigail Wroth, Carla Letheby and Lauren Highton narrowly missed top places. All the girl athletes mentioned here are being considered for the Surrey team. We wait to hear about the boys. Well done on your performances. Good performances next Sunday will help to secure your places. Other team members will still have the chance to bring  themselves to the attention of the selectors with good performances.

As before, selected athletes should arrive at the Spectrum at 12.15 pm . Those needing  a lift should speak to their team managers.

Please remember to bring your £2 contribution towards the Sportshall costs. New club vests are now in stock, so please enquire of coaches/team managers if you need one.

Here’s to another good competition.

Quiz Night and Senior Trophy Presentation

Saturday (note the correction from Friday) the 25th of November sees the annual quiz night and the senior trophy presentations taking place.

Its an excellent, fun evening, and all athletes/partners etc are very welcome.

It starts at 7:30pm at the clubhouse, and entry is £5, this includes food (but bring your own drinks etc) and entry to both the raffle and quiz. Any profits (!) made will go towards the funding of the club.

First off, presentations will be made to this years winners of the senior club trophies.

At some point the raffle will be drawn, which has a number of prizes, each payment on the door gets 1 ticket, subsequent tickets are available for a small price.

The quiz generally consists of people being randomly split into groups and then, as with any quiz, answering a series of questions. Each team is allowed a ‘wildcard’ round, where any points they score in that round will be doubled. There will be prizes for the winners!
