Next match is a home match at Walton on the 24th July and our last match at Stompond Lane

Youth Development League (LAG) – 19 June – Kingston

It was another successful day for Walton at their third match of the season with lots of PBs and another Club record. The U13 boys, Freddie Allen and James Wiles, set huge PBs in the 1500m and Ricky Villa-Abrille got a new PB in the shot. Freddie, Ross and Jacob also stepped in to fill events at the last minute and did a sterling job scoring points for the team. All of them gained PBs in these events, too. There were also lots of PBs for the U13 girls including Georgia Russell in the shot, Tea McBean – 150m and Bella Wiles in all her events. Olivia Hanson made her first outing for the team scoring a PB in the 70m hurdles. The U15 girls continued the trend with PBs for Emma Horsey (300m), Eva West (200m) and Charlotte Vaughan (300m) with a time of 43.5s, which was also a new Club record! The U15B also had lots of PB’s with several athletes getting two or more including Sam Bishop (80mH, SP), Tom Cursons (80mH, 800m), Michael Cotterill (200m, 800m) and Joshua Taylor (300m 800m). Others were gained by Evan Lee (200m), Tom Jones (1500m) and Josh Cowie (Hammer). Ben Fitzpatrick also put in a good performance in the 1500m in his first outing for the Club. There were also some good runs in the relays with the U13 girls going below 60s in the 4x100m for the first time this season and the U15 girls taking 6 seconds off their 4x300m time.

Once again, thank you to the officials, without whom we wouldn’t be able to compete and to Andrew for giving up another weekend to coach. Thank you too, to all the parents who supported and got the athletes to the right place at the right time with the right number on: there were some pretty fast and last minute changes to be made!

The next match is at home on the 16th July and the full results will be posted on the Power of 10 website.

Youth Development League (UAG) – May 29 – Mile End

Upper League YDL 29th May Mile End
A cold but at least dry day saw another depleted Walton and Reigate Priory team trek to Mile End for our second match.
Overall we had 9 PB’s and one St Johns foil blanket injury.
Highlight of the day: Olympian Christine Ohuruogu was training on the track and happy to participate in the girls selfies.
Once again the relay teams were the boys and for a change we had two 4 X 100m with the Under 17’s battling against the Under 20’s in the same race.
Wishing a speedy recovery to Calum who pulled his hamstring but managed to still win his hurdle race.
Overall we finished 4th out of 6.
A big thank you to our coach of the day Andrew Kennard who warmed up and cooled down all as well as being seen and sometimes heard across the track.
Thank you also to all the parents for traveling by train and car all the way across London much appreciated and to our Reigate athletes Anousha Wardley, Pippa Wonders, Abbie Owens and Isabel Hornung.
We would be nowhere without our precious officials so thanks too to : Ivan, Andrew, Dave, Stuart, Elaine, Tracy, Hilary, Tait and Sophie.
Our next match is at Parliament Hill on 26th June.
