General Information
Club Headquarters
Walton AC is based at the Stompond Lane Sports Ground, Walton on Thames, Surrey. KT12 0RB. The sports ground is half a mile from Walton town centre between the town centre and the railway station.  Directions. At Stompond Lane you will find a 6 lane all weather track with floodlighting and full jumps and throws facilities. The clubhouse has a well equipped weights room for senior athletes, a clubroom large enough for aerobics type activity and male & female changing and showers.

Use of Facilities
The track is available for use by senior members all day every day except during football matches. Floodlighting is available during the winter for club training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. In the summer there will be days when the track is booked by schools and those wishing to train should check the bookings schedule which will be found on the website Track Bookings 2012.   There is no session by session charge for use of the track, this is covered by the annual club membership fee.  The clubhouse is available for use by paid up senior members all day every day. The weights room is available to members over the age of 16 who have paid the weights room fee and had an induction. Those under 18 must also be supervised in the weights room whilst training

Coaching
Walton AC have qualified coaches in all athletic disciplines and all club training sessions whether senior event group or general group sessions will be supervised by qualified coaches.


Competition
Walton AC enter a large number of competitions throughout the year to give appropriate levels of competition to all members whatever their age or ability. These include track and field leagues in the summer and cross country and sportshall leagues in the winter.
Although Walton AC welcomes members of all standards and all level of experience it is not a fitness club and  members are expected to compete regularly throughout the year. Competition opportunities are available for athletes of all ages, standards and specialities and an appropriate competition programme should be agreed with your coach(es).

Joining the Club
The club welcomes new members of all abilities and any age from 9 years upwards. Please contact us on the phone numbers or email addresses below. We currently have a waiting list for junior age groups, seniors can contact us in advance or just come along to one of the training sessions, introduce yourself to one of the coaches and join in. We do not ask new members to pay a membership fee and formally join the club until they have been coming along for a few weeks and decided that they wish to continue. Management & Administration
The club is managed by an elected committee comprising four officers (President, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Secretary) and eight general committee members. The committee meet on the first Thursday of each month in the clubhouse at 8:30pm. Any club member may attend a committee meeting as an observer. The AGM is held on the last Thursday of February and all club members and parents of younger members are invited to attend.

Affiliations
The club is fully affiliated to the sport's governing bodies at county, regional and national level and thus enjoys the benefits available. These include Public Liability Insurance.

Membership and annual subscription.
Subscriptions are due from 1st January annually. All cheques should be made out to Walton AC and  addressed to the Membership Secretary. They may be handed to any Committee Member. It is not necessary to complete a fresh application form each year, unless any of your details have changed. In accordance with UKA Rules, members are reminded that an athlete's resignation from the Club cannot be accepted until their subscription for the current year is paid in full. Arrears of subscription will render members liable to non-selection for the Club.
The Club colours are black with gold/red/gold bands. Members are reminded that they must purchase a club vest when they join and the vest must always be worn when representing the Club. They are available from any coach at £13 each (£20 for a croptop). Some other club kit e.g. T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, is available, ask any coach.

Club Championships
The club awards a number of championship trophies. The track and field championships for all Male and Female Age Groups from under 11’s to seniors are awarded based on the end of season club ranking lists. All performances in club meetings (leagues, championships and open meetings) are included in the ranking lists.
Trophies are also awarded for cross country racing.

Getting Involved
The club is run by volunteers and can only exist through the efforts of those volunteers. There are many ways to get involved in helping the club through coaching, officiating at matches, assisting with maintenance work, fund raising, organising social events, providing transport to matches/races and in many other areas.
