Surrey Cross Country Championships – Lloyd Park

All age groups were in action yesterday at a muddy Lloyd Park for the Surrey Cross Country Championships.

Under 13 boys came 4th in team competition, first home in 21st place was
Ross Hurst, closely followed by Jack Gemmell in 24th, then James Wiles 32nd
and Freddie Allen 54th.

In the Under 15 boys Ben Marks ran his best race of the season so far to
secure second place and gain inter counties selection. In the team race
Walton packed well to secure the silver medal. Ben Marks 2nd, Ben
Fitzpatrick 11th, Oliver Coppellotti 14th and Joshua Taylor 20th made up
the team. Other Walton finishers were Thomas Jones 29th, Michael Cottrill
48th, Rueben Leyland 53rd and Ben Palmer 78th.

Under 15 girls Charlotte Vaughan and Rachel Pharaoh come 4th and 6th
respectively and gained inter counties selection and secured team silver
along with Emma Horsey 10th and Megan Coffey 16th, other Walton athletes
were Imogen Button 17th and Clara Sawicki 39th.

Under 17 mens race Isaac Mammen finished 16th and in the under 20 mens Matt
Pharaoh came 10th and Cameron Chisholm 13th.

The Senior Men’s team had the requisite six members with Duncan coming home in 26th, Jon Ladley in 78th, Rob in 103rd, Tim in 111th, Phil in 119th and Andy close behind in 122nd. The team finished 12th of the 16 clubs.
