A new date has been agreed for the rescheduled AGM.
The AGM will take place on Thursday 12th April from 8:15pm (after training). Please do come along and contribute to the decision-making process and running of the club.
Another good reason to attend: to partake of good cheese and biscuits (with appropriate liquid accompaniment)
Please note the Ebbisham Boys League fixtures have been amended as follows:
Match 1 – MOVED to 29th April at Ewell
Match 2 – Moved to Kingston (date remains 10 June)
Match 3 – As per the original published date and venue, 8th July, Walton
Please note that the new date for Match 1 CLASHES with the YDL upper age group so U17 athletes (school years 10/11) please note that the YDL fixture is the priority: you will not be able to compete at the Ebbisham League match if you are selected to represent the club at the YDL match.

Outstanding results for Walton AC in the Surrey Cross Country League as all male teams win their divisions, whilst Emment, Woolmer and Marks claim individual honours.
Walton Young Athletes secure League titles!!
Outstanding team effort was the order of the day on a cold and chilly afternoon at Wimbledon Common and the boys did not let themselves down.
As for the first time in the same season we secured both the under 13 and under 15/17 team titles in emphatic style and so thoroughly deserved.
In the under 13 boys race Ollie Emment reigned supreme with another victory and in doing so claimed the overall individual title. Ollie was supported by Christopher Vaughan in 10th, Alex Histon-Allvey 12th, Harry Tuckman 14th, Jacob Gelona 27th and Callum Stewart 34th.
The under 15/17 boys were lying in second place going into this final fixture, just 5 points behind South London Harriers. The boys were having none of it, determination to defend their league title they romped to the league title with some great packing.
First home was Ben Fitzpatrick in 3rd closely followed by Ben Marks in 4th. This performance by Ben Marks secured him the Runners Up spot in the overall individual competition. Having his best run of this season and next home was Ollie Coppellotti in 8th, closely followed by Joshua Taylor 11th, Jack Gemmell 12th and Ross Hurst 13th. Rueben Leyland was next across the line in 25th, Joseph Daws-Twilley 28th, Archie Forsyth 32nd, Ben Palmer 36th and Jack Fernandes 39th.
Huge congratulations to all the boys, including those not their today (Michael Cottrill, Edward Dawson, Tom Jones, Finn & Josh Punton, Harvey Ball and Ben Shepherd) who ran this season and thanks to all the parents for their outstanding support.
Meanwhile, over in Croydon, the men’s team cemented their promotion back to division 2 with overall victory in division 3, in spite of a weakened team that still managed third on the day. Duncan Woolmer again led the team home in 3rd place to claim overall 2nd position, supported by Matt Reed (8th), Matt Pharaoh (20th), Jon Ladley (21st), Isaac Mammen (25th), Rob Lovegrove (30th), James Harvey (36th), Chris de Mauny (40th), Jonny Bevan (130th) and Adam McCarthy (137th). Matt Pharaoh and Isaac Mammen were 1st and 2nd U20 for the season.
The women and girls were at Richmond Park earlier in the day, and again suffered from low numbers, however quality not quantity was the order of the day, with Jo Locker, Lizzie Amos and Guilaine Sheward plaing 19th, 33rd and 154th in the senior division 2 race, while Charlotte Vaughan was 4th in the U17 race, and Lani Cardwell 27th in the U15 race. The U13 girls completed the racing, with Bella Wiles 19th and Erin Simper 23rd.
Places for People will be closed at some of our usual training times over the Christmas period. We have negotiated the following alternative arrangements for these times- please make a note!
Boxing Day (26th December) – moved to Wed 27th December at 12:00 to 2:30pm
Saturday 30th December – from 12:00 to 2:30pm as they are not open until 12:00pm
All other training times remain unchanged.

Match Report – YDL LAG Bournemouth 20th May 2017
A determined team of LAG athletes boarded the coach for their second YDL match in Bournemouth on Saturday morning. There were several new members of the team competing in the YDL league for the first time, including Poppy Huxtable, Evie Hodgen, Grace Penfold, Iona Hobbs, Callum Stewart and Archie Forsyth all of whom showed great enthusiasm and determination throughout the day.
There were some great performances throughout the day, despite the weather! All credit to the 200m runners who raced through a monsoon with PBs for Caitlin Paul and Eva West. In fact, the girls were on fine form as all of the U13 and U15 girls achieved PBs in every sprint race throughout the day along with Imogen Burton and Bella Wiles in the 1500m and 1200m respectively. In the field, Georgia Russell had a huge PB in the hammer. Not to be outdone the boys all sprinted to PBs as well with George Sudderick equalling the Club Record in the 100m. They were joined by Ross Hurst, Archie Forsyth, Ollie Emment and Callum Stewart in the 800m and Jack Gemmell, Finn Punton and Jacob Gelona in the 1500m. The field events were equally successful with both Luca Soave and Ben Palmer jumping PBs in the long jump and Christopher Vaughan and Ollie Emment in the javelin.
The real heroes of the day were all the athletes who agreed to throw or jump for a point for the team. There were a surprising number of PBs in these events from Tyler Panton’s debut in the HJ to a tired Emma Horsey in the SP throwing in her bare feet immediately after stepping off the track after her 1500m to ensure points for the team. The day finished with the sun finally appearing for a very exciting finish which saw Walton dominate the relays. The U15 boys and girls 4x300m relay teams have, therefore, been awarded the Male and Female athletes of the match award – well done! True team spirit to battle to an amazing 2nd place by just a matter of a few points.
Thank you to the officials, without whom we wouldn’t be able to compete and to Andrew for giving up his weekend to coach! Thank you too, to all the parents who supported and got the athletes to the right place at the right time with the right number on – you were amazing!
Huge congratulations to all the athletes who competed so well! The official results should be out soon on the YDL and Power of 10 websites. We are now looking forward to the next match on 18th June in Winchester.
