Indoor Round Up

As the outdoor season starts it’s a good time to produce a report of a fairly successful indoor season.
Only eight Walton atheltes entered the various indoor championships but between them they secured 2 national masters titles and a bronze medal, a South of England senior bronze medal, 2 Surrey senior titles and 3 other Surrey medals.

The South of England Indoor champs came first on 17th/18th  January at the Lee Valley stadium where Helen Channon came 3rd in the senior long jump and new member Greg Conlon was 4th in the senior pole vault.
It was Lee Valley again on 22nd February for the Brintish Masters Indoor pentathlon champs where Andrew Kennard won the M40 title and Jo Regan came 3rd in the W40 event.

The action moved to the Sutton arena the following weekend for the Surrey Indoor champs wher Greg Conlon set a new senior men’s club record, winning the county pole vault title with 4.45m. Kaylee Price won the senior women’s 60m hurdles event in 9,.21s. There was a silver medal for Jo Regan in the senior long jump and bronze medals for Carla Letheby in the under 17 shot and Kate Lee in the under 17 high jump. Mark Partridge recorded a pb to come 4th in his heat of the under 20 mens 60m, just missing out on a final place.
