One of the foremost cryptanalysts at Bletchley Park, Dr Alan Turing, was an avid runner and was a member of Walton AC after the war, when he was working at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). He was good friends with Peter Brewer who is in the photograph.
Turing ran with Walton AC from 1945-1950 and he was placed 5th in the British Athletic Championships Marathon race in 1947 (with a time of 2hrs 46mins)
