Ramon top scorer for Surrey

Ramon Wright and Louis Johnson were selected to compete for Surrey in the London and South East regional sportshall final at the Guildford Spectrum on Sunday 26th February.

Ramon performed well all day to become the highest scorer for Surrey in the under 15 boys competition and was the second highest individual overall. He helped Surrey to 2nd place behind winners Essex.

The under 13 boys team also came 2nd with Louis Johnson scoring a win in the vertical jump event.

Busy weekend for Robin

Robin Copestick continued his excellent winter form in two races over the weekend. Firstly on Friday night he ran the final race of the Poole Runners Winter 5k Series, coming 3rd in 15:49 and as a result finished 2nd senior man over the series of six races.

On Sunday morning he then tackled the Mad March Hare 20 mile road race at Christchurch. Robin ran this race last year coming 2nd in 1hr 56 mins, but his hard work this winter paid off wiith a three minute improvement to 1 hr 53 mins and a victory over a field of 300+ runners.

Walton AC trip to the Norwich Union Grand Prix

Last year 50 or so Walton AC members witnessed the first five metre ladies pole vault in history as the centre piece of a superb nights athletics at the Norwich Union Crystal Palace Grand Prix.
Whilst we cannot guarantee another historic moment we can expect an excellent night of athletics again this year.  We have reserved a block of 60 tickets in the Jubilee stand, where we were last time, for the meeting on Friday 28th July

We are getting a 20% discount on adult bookings so tickets will cost £13.60 for adults and £12 for under 16’s/OAPS/NUS

Again, as with last year, we will not organise transport to the venue, its much easier to travel by train via Clapham Junction to Crystal Palace station, a few minutes walk from the stadium.

The tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so let me know how many tickets(adults + concessions) you want by either mailing me @ jonladley@hotmail.com, speaking to me at training, or ringing me on 07779 335 405.

Due to the nature of the reservation process we will need payment within the next few weeks, either in cash or by cheque
