The Plate final saw another good performance from the under 13 and 15 girls that turned up for the match. The under 15 girls performed exceptionally well. Despite being down on numbers they won their age group again.
The u13s had no event wins. There were though second places in the A string for Eleanor, Isabelle and Sophie, with AAA standards for Eleanor in the 200m and shot , Isabelle in the long jump and Sophie in the discus. In the B string there were second places for Roberta in the 1500m, Beth in the 200m, Sophie in the long jump and Hayleigh in the shot
In the U15 girls there were A string wins for Carla in the shot, discus and javelin, Kate in the high jump, Lisa in the hurdles and Alice in the 1500m. In the B string there were wins for Sinead in the Shot and Discus, Shannen in the high jump, Kate in the Hurdles and Alice in the javelin. Antonia running for the first time for the club came third in the 100m and 1500m and gained useful points for the club.
Of particular note was Lisa’s performance in the hurdles and Carla’s in the shot, discus and javelin all achieved with good AAAs standards.
The day finished with a second place for the U15 relay team, the only one we managed to put out on the day.
With no U17s competing it was always going to be difficult to win the event and after running in second place most of the day we were eventually beaten by Sutton and Dorking.
