This year’s Championship is being held at Alexander Stadium Birmingham. The competition is the most prestigous schools competition in England and is held over two days. Athletes selected for Surrey will have already competed at district and county level as well as having  achieved minimum entry performances. Surrey is one of the largest counties, but is restricted to taking 60 athletes making selection even harder.

Walton AC is again well represented with four members having made the Surrey team.

Cala Letheby is competing in the Intermediate girl’s discus and is making her third appearance. Carla is again the only female thrower in the Intermediate team.

Lisa O’Brien is competing in the Intermediate girl’s 80m hurdles and is making her second appearance.

Matthew Szepietowski is competing in the Junior boys javelin for the first time.

Reece Barnett is competing in the Junior boys long jump for the first time.

Sky TV are again covering the competition on saturday.
