On friday evening, Sophie Mace was invited to attend the Surrey County Athletics Association presentation evening and was awarded ‘The Championship Best Performance 2017’ for the Under 20 Women.

This was for her Discus throw at the Outdoor Surrey Championships 2017 of 44.84m to take the CBP from the previous holder, current British Number 1 Discus thrower Jade Lally.

Sophie has now received the Best Championship Performance award 5 times with her 12 CBP at the Surrey Championships together with 27 gold medals, and has broken Surrey Records on 22 occasions.

Last year Sophie was the female team captain for Surrey at English Schools and won her 4th individual title. Surrey was the overall English Schools winner.
