Weekend Round Up 22/23 April

We have two weekends to report on.

On Sunday 16th April the league season started with the first Ebbisham league match at Tooting Bec.
Having been promoted last summer as division 2 champions we were hoping for a good start to the division 1 campaign.. In the event, despite a low turnout due mainly to Easter holidays,  Walton finished equal 3rd of the six clubs.
We are still waiting to receive the individual results and will post them on the website once arrive.

In the meantime a few senior athletes have been away on a warm weather training trip to the Canaries. Read all about it in  Nat on Tour

On Saturday 22nd Abi took the Southern Womens League team to Milton Keynes for their opening fixture. A small team did very well and are 13th of 25 in the league after one match SWL Report

On Sunday 23rd two of Walton’s distance runners raced the Flora London Marathon. Robin Copestick improved his best time by 4 minutes to 2hrs 30m 58s which placed him 66th man in the race. Michelle Oldham, in her second marathon improved by 20 minutes to 3hrs 25 which we believe is a club record. Congratulations to both on excellent runs.

Remnember that the Walton Open Meeting is only just over a week away, on Sunday  7th May. entry forms and timetable are available at  Walton Open Details .
