Eleven Walton athletes competed in this relay event. We only managed full teams in two age groups but had some excellent individual performances.

We had no under 13 girl entrants but the under 13 boys race started well with Sam Linsley leading the race at the end of the first leg, Phillip Bearman kep the team in 10th at the end of the 2nd leg but we didn’t have a 3rd leg runner. Sam’s time was the 4th fastest of the day in the age group.

The under 15 age groups were where we had full teams with the boys (Ben Kennard, Kyle Traherne and Conor Kissane-Wood) coming 12th, Ben was 14th fastest in the age group.

Lauren Highton ran well for 15th at the end of her first leg, Alex Panayides improved to 13th and then a storming run from Alice Wills (4th fastest of the day) moved the team up to 8th.

George Thomas was 16th fastest under 17 man and in the under 17 women’s race Nicola Aylett finished the first leg in 2nd place, producing the 4th fastest time in the age group, and Rachel Strachan was in 7th after two legs but again there wasn’t a third team member.
